Cardiology

Cardiology is the study and treatment of disorders of the heart and the blood vessels. If your blood pressure is high, or if you fall into a category with a high risk of heart disease such as a family history, high cholesterol, smoke exposure, diabetes, or obesity, we need to test the health of your heart and cardiovascular system.  A woman who has had pre-eclampsia may be at higher risk of heart problems in a later pregnancy or during the menopause.

Symptoms that can indicate a heart problem:

  • fatigue
  • shortness of breath
  • dizziness
  • chest pains
  • changes in heart rate or rhythm

Even if you have no symptoms, we want to prevent heart disease from developing. The Axis provider will review your medical history and carry out a physical examination, beginning with checking your weight blood pressure, and listening to your heart and lungs.

Let Axis providers help you prevent heart disease.
